NORTH LIBERTY SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER

UNIQUE, JUST LIKE YOU.

Senior pictures happen once. That’s why your senior photos should be a positive experience—not a giant ball of stress.

MAKING IT EASY

You don’t need to know exactly what you want for your senior pictures. That’s why I’m here. Together, we’ll design your senior session to reflect you.

I’ll guide you at every step: what to do with your hands, how to stand, where to look… by the end, you’ll be a pro.

Not sure what to wear? I’ll give you simple tips so you’re not flying blind.

TL;dr: You’re not carrying the load here. That’s why you’re hiring me: so you can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience without stressing over the small stuff.

“The entire photo shoot, my daughter kept saying, ‘This is exactly what I envisioned. Lydia nailed it.’ She makes it her mission to find the perfect locations and does a great job making everyone feel comfortable.”

What you'll wear

I’ll give you do’s and don’ts for outfits, and you’ll share the vibe you want—urban grunge, water, grassy field, etc.—and I’ll find locations that look amazing.

How I plan

We’ll Zoom beforehand (helps head off the awkward, “Oh hi rando with a camera” thing), and I’ll create a detailed plan: locations, timing, and outfits.

At ease, senior!

Getting you comfortable is my job and I’m pretty damn good at it. I’ll show you the photos (to see how amazing you look!) and we’ll listen to your favorite songs, too.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

About Senior Sessions

I want you to feel super confident about working with me from the get-go. Here are some of the questions I’m often asked about senior sessions.

What's a "digital image"?

It’s a high-quality jpeg image file that you’ll download, and they’re yours to keep. You can do just about anything you like with them! Many share them online, make a graduation invite or card with them, or create a photo book to display at the graduation party… anything goes!

Will you suggest locations?

I’ll send a questionnaire after you book your session that let’s you share the kind of locations you like, plus places you love to go and are meaningful to you.

We’ll create a location plan that’s designed just for you. Do you dig the urban vibe? I’ll find the perfect alleys to complement your outfits. Want to splash in a creek, or a field of wildflowers? I might get poison ivy (#truestory), but dammit, we’ll get it done.

I have a long list of beautiful locations, and I’ll find places (or go hunting for new ones) that look great and complement your outfit.

Outdoor sessions take place between May 1 and November 1. Indoor sessions, including indoor sports, can happen any time of year.

What's your turnaround time?

Waiting 3 months for your photos is a drag, so I take a limited number of clients each month so I can keep my turnaround speedy. I deliver your gallery 2-3 weeks after your session. August to October, you’ll wait a max of 30 days.

Can I split my session over two dates?

Can’t decide between summery dresses or cozy fall sweaters for your pictures? Why not both?

It’s possible to divide your session time across two dates (a “split session”).

This is an option if you book the Standard package, and due to the additional time, planning, and travel required, there’s an upcharge of $250 added your session fee.

You’ll have the option to do a “split session” when you book with me.

When should I book senior pictures?

The best time to book me for a senior session is during the last half of your junior year. I take a limited number of seniors each season, and my schedule fills quickly.

The most in-demand photographers in the area are typically full for seniors by August 1st.

If senior year’s already started, get in touch anyway! I’ll see what I can do to help.

Most schools require you to turn in your yearbook photo in December of senior year, so keep that in mind.

The best way to not miss the boat is to join my email list. You’ll get first dibs on my booking calendar, before the gen pop.

Ready to book? Let’s do this thing.

How late is too late to book?

If senior pics snuck up on you and it’s past October of senior year, don’t stress.

We’ll do a short (30-minute) session indoors (usually in one of the UIOWA campus buildings) so you have a pic for the yearbook. In May, when it warms up, we’ll finish your pics outdoors (and I’ll have ’em back to you before your grad party!).

Every year I photograph a handful of seniors this way, but time is of the essence. Fill this out and I’ll get back to you asap.

“Lydia embraced a camera-shy, snarky high school senior with style and grace. She made him comfortable, which means we got awesome senior photos!”
